Interrupted

Seems like there's no end to interruptions from this workplace...

Goddamn, so much for the Tuesday and Friday day-offs... and here's a little rant on what's been going down this last few days and the reason for the lack of promised posts for Tuesday: sudden work calls.

sigh... can't even get some day-offs in peace.

The two day-offs that I've gotten [and applied AND approved] for Tuesday and Friday were cancelled, and got an urgent notice to get to work early for Tuesday... after that, I've been there working my ass off... and that also includes today [Saturday] as well.

Must'a been the New Year/Christmas shenanigans... holidays = more peeps to handle...

Well, at least they gave me back the approved day-offs... so not all's lost. Plus, I got another two days, one for the work and another for the weekend stay.

Gonna apply them this coming week, plus some leave I have left and that'll be the whole week gone... and also next-next week's Monday as well.

Still haven't forgotten the videos, though. I will get on them soon.

Now, I'm gonna go to bed... tired and just reached home about an hour ago from work, plus it's already 12:22 AM here. So see ya'll next post instead.

Oh, and a Happy New Year to 2017. Hopefully, things will be better this year than the last...

Dark Days

Got back from work, then this shit has to happen...

Hello, everyone. Sorry about the lack of posts during the weekends, and the only thing I can say was that my computer busted itself the moment I got back last Friday. Been trying to fix every single problem as best I can...

...it kinda works okay now, but there's still some problems that even I can't fix.

The problem that I can't fix is the damn Ethernet port not working right. Did some research and turns out the Ethernet Controller Card suffered some physical damage... guess it's old age or heat problems. So now I'm stuck to using goddamned WiFi again... sigh

Already have bought a little something to help with that, and it's an Ethernet Adapter plugged in through the USB Port. Seems neat as I don't have to place my ol' computer under repairs for such small matters.

Plus, they'll charge you a hell lot more than just buying an alternative.

Anyways, placed an order and now just have to wait for it to arrive... about two weeks later. The problem isn't that serious so no rush needed.

Aaannd that's what happened during Saturday and Sunday. This computer's still going strong even after random falling objects from other siblings hit it...

Hang on... it's Monday here! How are you still at home and not at work?!

Well, calm down... Christmas was on Sunday, and so the next day is immediately a Public Holiday. Oh, and I've received some day-offs covering this Tuesday and Friday... so there's that.

Now that's outta the way, it's time to talk about the upcoming World Of Tanks video. Already made up my mind on which of the next bunch I should pick, and it's gonna be quite large... but not by much, just only six videos so it's only one more extra than the 110 bunch.

This... is gonna take some time. What tank is it? Well, the only clue I can give ya is this: it's a fairly new tank, and it performs the exact opposite as how the rest of the Heavy Tanks in it's nation.

Hell, that's two hints... but whatever. I have videos to record and upload now, so I'll post again once they are done... in the meantime, stay tuned.

Heads up: the next post might not even be up today...

China's "IS-3"

Well... now that those 5 videos are uploaded already, I can get on with the post.

Yep, finally after soo many hours... they are uploaded to YouTube. Time to get on with the post.

So continuing from my last post... have you guessed what tank it is? Well, the title's a big giveaway already actually... It's the 110, the Tier VIII [or eight] Heavy Tank.

Some say that it's much better than the IS-3 in terms of armor.

Yes, it's armor is actually better than the IS-3... at least from the front. It doesn't have the spaced side armor or very low-profile cupolas that tank had too...

Okay, before I drag on too much, it's time for the videos... since there's about 5 [FIVE] of them.

Now, onto the next one... Lost during this match, and that arty though...

In the next video, I had to face an enemy 110... Managed to kill him in the most cheap way.

There's nothing special in the next video, though. Just an average battle... but did managed to pull an epic shot towards an enemy IS-3 to it's tiny as-hell cupola.

...And now, the final replay. Another loss, but did really well in blocking incoming damage... got it piled up to 6000 DAMAGE BLOCKED. Normally this kind of numbers are seen on end-tier Heavy Tanks like the Maus for example...

...ironic since my Maus has never blocked up to 6000 damage before.

...Aaannnd that's all the videos placed in this post. Now, about the tank...

The 110 is pretty much a modified IS-2... or more specifically a modified IS-2U. The tank used a turret similar to the T-10, so that means it's a combination of Tier VIII [or eight] and Tier IX parts.

The 110's gun is also pretty good... rapid fire and high penetration, although the damage output might make some players not want to have the tank.

Pretty straightforward to play this tank: when engaging enemies, make sure to face the tank straight-on to them. If you're not straight-on, the pike nose armor will get very weak... even if it's just a bit off.

This is because unlike the IS-3, the 110 has a much more higher profile. The sloping and angling on the pike nose armor on the IS-3 is more forgiving to it's player as it's much more lower and hence, it's angle is less steep.

Ahh... the epitome of "Russian Bias"...

It's just like the 113/112 Heavy Tank compared against the 121 Medium Tank. but only these tanks have different frontal plate angles... 68 degrees for the 113/112 which is more superior than the 121.

The IS-3 and 110's comparison is on it's pike nose steepness, instead.

Anyways, the 110 also has a number of weakspots as well. The cupolas are a dead giveaway, and the lower frontal plate is also another one. Then there's the side armor... you can't angle too much in this tank, period.

The tank is also pretty vulnerable against High Explosive ammo as HE isn't affected by armor angle values... and this tank has only 120mm thickest on the hull... so that's where you would wanna shoot them when you are using those tanks with Howitzers [or 'Derp' guns/tanks is what players normally call them].

Shooting HE at the turret will result in lesser damage instead as the front of the 110's upgraded turret has about 201mm of armor.

To me, I prefer the 110 over the IS-3. I just prefer a faster firing and overall more accurate gun. Less damage, yes... but it's still a beast when used right.

Well, I guess that's all that has to be done now in this post. This is the last post, and will only get to come back to the usual next weekend.

Y'know, work and shizz...

What will be next week's post and video batch? Haven't decided yet, but when the time comes it'll be ready. So stay tuned for next week's update. See ya...

-Panzer Fist-

Upcoming Video Batch

Hey... guess who's back?

I've decided on which World Of Tanks vehicle replay I should record, but there's about 5... yes, FIVE of them. Not a problem for me, but it's gonna take some time to get them all up to YouTube.

This particular tank was chosen as it was the next smallest bulk I have [after the Maus replays]... the others stack up to 9 and 10 respectfully. [China Heavy Tank and German Heavy Tank]

There was no other smaller ones... 5 is the smallest I can find, then the one other tank has 6 replays.

I do have some single tank replays lying around, but I'd rather get these old replays uploaded and posted first... don't want to miss the chance to place them up.

So yeah... what's the vehicle? Well, it's a Tier VIII [or eight], and it's a Heavy Tank. It hails from the Chinese Tech Tree and I have mentioned about the tank several times in older posts...

...should be easy enough to guess what tank it is.

Well, I guess that's enough time wasted... time to get back to the works. Will post again when they are done.

Steel Giant

Alright, that's three videos uploaded already...

I'm back! And all that only took me an hour... and all that's left is to write this post.

Now, what tank am I showcasing today? It's the Tier 10 German Heavy Tank with the most misleading name ever, the Maus.

Good ol' Maus. Metal Saga lets them have THREE cannons at once...

One the oldest Tier X [or Ten] vehicles in the game... so far only vehicle with the most mass and health, too. Had this tank for quite some time now and the battles I've had in it were... mixed.

'Cause of the nature of the server I'm in, almost everyone loads Premium Ammunition at nearly any tank... only exception is when shooting Artillery. Seems nice. Because of this, the Maus can be pretty easy to kill. That and the fact that if it were to be on an open map...

...ugh, nightmare.

But I get by. It's still a relatively good tank. The selling point of this tank is only one thing [and one thing only]: it's armor. This tank pretty much tests you on how informed [and skilled] you are at Angling. Make a mistake and pay it greatly.

Real slow, damaged engine doesn't even affect it that much... that and also the fact that it's armor can be very trollish to others if angled right. That's what the first replay I'm showing has to say about that...

What else does this tank has? Well, it's health [3000 HP] let's you take hits more than others... the armor absorbs a lot of splash damage from High Explosive ammo. Then, you have the weight of this tank.

It can go up to 190 tons if the Superheavy Spall Liner was installed. In fact, it's so heavy, you can just push lighter tanks right up to the wall to trap them or even flip them over like pancakes... which the next replay conveniently has: tank flipping.

This beast of a tank may look intimidating, but it's size and speed are it's biggest downfalls. Plus the turret front, the 'curved' part? It's actually a weakspot which is targeted quite a lot when the small lower front plate isn't available to shoot.

Big profile let's it get detected easier and also easy shots for artillery. The speed makes it easy to run away and hide from the tank... and also to flank it from more than one position. All the disadvantages leads the Maus to be a fairly easy tank to handle when it's left alone...

...the next replay shows just that, a last stand against a group of enemy tanks. Still, that Tier 9 cooking, though.

But even with all that negatives, it's still a tank that can do well. Just don't expect it to be a juggernaut like how it was in the older versions of the game... which I definitely have not been around long enough in World Of Tanks.

A little short history on this tank: It was a proposed tank during WWII, and is the heaviest to date. The tank itself went through tons of developments and names, from a realistic 'Mammut' [Mammoth], then to the 'Mauschen' [Little Mouse] then finally the 'Maus' [Mouse].

Huh. Seems like the Germans have a sense of humor. I mean, a giant steel monster 'Maus' and a small tracked bomb called 'Goliath'...

There were 2 Maus tanks that were undergoing testing after the factories making them were bombed by the Allies, and one of the prototypes were blown up when the Germans were under attacked. The other one was captured, but it only had a working hull.

The blown-up Maus had the turret mostly intact, so the Russians took both the hull and turret, fixed them up as best they could for them to fit together seamlessly and showcased it in their museum... which still stands today. Here's a picture of the tank below...

Surviving Maus Superheavy Tank at Kubinka Museum

During the war, they were more projects for the Maus... like for a bigger gun 'cause Hitler claimed that it looks like a 'toy gun' compared to the tank. The turret was supposed to be improved to the E-100 Turret, and the 'improved gun' was intended to be a 15cm gun, same as the one the E-100 has, but looks different.

Here's some pictures of how the second turret looks...

Original V1 Turret on the top, and the V2 Turret below... V2 is on the E-100 in WOT.
Proposed base design with 15cm gun [top turret], Original V1 Turret [2nd], V2 Turret [3rd] and the 15cm gun [last]
Maus II, V2 Turret with 12.8cm gun.
Maus II Blueprint.

Hell, there's even a model of the Maus II out there! Makes me wanna buy one.

Maus II model, V2 Turret with 12.8cm gun... 2 different colors.

There's even a mod out there that had the Maus II...

The Maus II look beast...

Well, I guess everyone now definitely knows that I love this tank waay too much. It's just a special one for me as it's one of the first few tanks that I saw that really showed what a 'tank' it really was... and that was in Metal Saga.

Well, I guess that's all that I want to show for today... took me too much hours to do this post... tomorrow's post will be on another tank on World Of Tanks, but I haven't decided on which one yet to do...

...I guess we'll that out tomorrow, then. Until then, stay tuned.

Back From The Dead

Wew... Finally another free weekend all to myself.

Hey guys! It's good to be back. It's been about a month since my last post, and only now I get some free time to do what I want. Time to use this weekend properly before it ends.

I've noticed that World Of Tanks has a new update in store: Update 9.17 and it seems to be quite a big deal. Seems like they are adding a new nation, Sweden, and their tanks' selling point are pretty neat.

...but I haven't even have the time to finish my 9.16 replays! To my relief, the replays still works AS LONG as I don't touch that World Of Tanks Launcher. So now I'm trying to get as many videos done as I can... I still have that giant 110 replay bunch to deal with.

But to be honest, I actually had some free time back in November. I was just too stressed out in the job to do any Blogger posts or YouTube video uploads. Instead, I took the time to vent out in World Of Tanks using a bunch of tanks I like [and do somewhat okay in]. Got most of the replays from the time I've played World Of Tanks in that period. Bunch of them were from my favorite, the Lowe...

...and also 2 new tanks that I've unlocked and the other one bought.

More on those tanks later, as I'm currently recording the replays as I'm typing this down. So far had 3 done, and that doesn't even cover a fraction of the number of saved replays I have left to record.

Gonna be a long day, but it's at least doing the things I like.

Still have some replays from October that I have saved, so I thought I might as well record them as they look interesting... and the other bulk was also from another Chinese tank, which happens to be also my favorite next to the Lowe. Guess which one?

Anyways, this post is to tell you that I'm back, but just only for this Saturday n' Sunday. After that, I won't be around for the whole weekday as they at least have the courtesy to inform me about the 'usual big work periods' that's happening next week last Monday.

With that outta the way, I'm off to do some more recording. Will be posting again soon as these videos are done and also uploaded to YouTube!

My Own Fault...

Alright, it's almost 1:30 AM here now, so I'll make it fast.

There won't be any posts for the weekends, as it's already Monday here...

Why? Well, the truth is pretty simple: playing games. There's some new things going on in World Of Tanks that took me both days, that and also I've been playing back the good ol' Fallout: New Vegas.

Yeah... became so absorbed in the games that I didn't even took some time off to do the post that I needed to do for the weekends.

Now, the main question: when will the next be on instead?

Honestly, I can't tell... why? Well, it's because of the unpredictability of my workplace tomorrow. There might be that long work period again, or maybe not... that, I won't know.

Most of fault goes to them not putting up a schedule beforehand, and always doing thing last-minute...

Anyways, that's all. Again, don't know when I can put up a post... but just be patient. It will be up, just don't know when.

AMX 50Beast Match

I'm back, and with a video too...

Well, it's Thursday already... or going to be Friday soon here. Time for another post in the good 'ol blog.

In the last post, I said that the next post might be about the 110 and some videos on it too. But as how little time I have left 'cause I'm tired AND also there seems to be way more 110 replays that I've thought (around 8, EIGHT), I figured I might as well just post a quick one here.

And as from the title of today's post, it's gonna be an AMX 50B replay... the French Tier X Heavy Autoloading Tank.

It's like having a 4-round revolver.

Just wanted to show this particular one as it's the only tank to have only one replay saved... even the Maus replays that I've saved have about 4.

In case you guys didn't know, I have about 4 Tier X tanks unlocked and obtained now. They are the AMX 50B, 113, IS-4 and the Maus. They are also obtained in that order, too... so yeah, the AMX 50B was the first Tier X tank that I've obtained.

When did I got 'em all, you say? Well obviously I've been playing World Of Tanks for quite some time now and I've been slowly getting them all, one-by-one. Tough work, but finally got 'em all.

But we'll continue that later... for now, it's the French autoloader's replay.

Ugh, that little mistake at the end proves how tired I am right now...

Pretty good match in there, though. Coulda get more damage done plus an extra kill if I didn't reload near the end there.

I've always preferred the French autoloaders over the American ones... I just prefer having that extra speed to go around to be helpful. It certainly did show in that match.

The French nation was actually the first nation that I advanced in... so it's pretty straightforward to get a Tier X from them first. I remember when I've first obtained the AMX 50 100... damn that 50 second reload time! But now I don't mind the reload times anymore.

In fact, I've even went and bought myself a few French heavy tanks that I used to play through for nostalgia... the first was the BDR G1 B, which was played for about up to 600 matches before I sold it. Then I moved on to the ARL 44 and even got the AMX 50 100 back again.

The BDR was a good tank, but I prefer the ARL 44 for it's "sniper gun" and sometimes useful front armor.

Why only Tier X Heavy tanks though? Well, those are during the times where I played tons of heavy tanks and gotten quite good at it. But now, my next Tier X tanks are gonna be Tank Destroyers... specifically about 2 only. They are the Object 263 and either the Jagdpanzer E 100 or the T110E3.

When am I gonna get them? Well, most of them are in Tier VII now... so it shouldn't be long to get at least one of them first... whichever that one it, of course.

Well, this certainly dragged on longer that I've imagined... That ate up 3 of my hours just like that, and Thursday already turned Friday today here... as it's already 2:30 AM here. So I guess that is all for today then.

I don't know when the next post will be up, but I want to get one done on the weekends. Dunno what it might be on, but at least it's something.

So without further delays, I'll be off to bed. See you in the next one!

100 Years of Tanks

And I'm back...

Time to get on with long-delayed post: The '100 Year Tanks' Event.

'100 Years of Tanks' Event.

As from the name, this event celebrates the 100th anniversary of tank history... or more specifically, the anniversary of the Battle of Somme which is the one of the first battles to feature the Mark I tank, which coincidentally was the first tank made.

British Mark I (Male)

I won't go into the history of the tank and the First World War... I'm more into the World War II stuff since I used to study that for History.

But if you're interested in the tank history, I'll link the Wikipedia article to the Mark I and *maybe* more below.

Now, what does World Of Tanks do about this? Well, that will be the Convoy Mode of course. It's pretty much an escort mission type gameplay.

Simple gameplay: one team attacks the Mark I, and one team defends the tank.

People play a wheeled vehicle called the Lanchester Armored Car. Probably the first purely wheeled vehicle in World Of Tanks.

Oh and by the way, we can't drive the Mark I tank. >disappoint

So anyways, the attacking team needs to destroy the tank with dynamites which spawn on the map... as the gun on the armored cars are just machineguns. They need to keep setting the dynamites on the tank about 4-5 times before it will be destroyed. Another way for them to win is to delay the tank from capturing the base.

Now, on to the defending team. These guys have to protect the tank as it makes it's way to the enemy base. Whenever the enemy is successful in setting the dynamite to the tank, it will be de-tracked. The team then will have to repair the tracks by picking up a repair kit from the map.

Each dynamite and repair kit can only spawn once and carried by one person only. That's where teamwork comes in. Oh, and there's also bonus pickups you can get from the maps which will give you either the "cannon" that one-shots others or the "actual machinegun" which carries some rounds. Multiple of these will spawn on the map, up to 3-4.

With the explanations outta the way, it's onto the replays. I'll be showing two replays: one's in the defending team with a victory, and one's in the attacking team with a defeat. I'll be showing the defending team replay first.

And now, the attacking team with a defeat. Not so bad gameplay, but still a loss.

There's a certain trick when playing the Convoy mode, and that is modules. Nothing to expensive attached, just some cheap ones that are going to help in the game mode quite a lot.

Light Spall Liner, Toolbox and Vents version 1 are attached.

The first module: the Light Spall Liner for absorbing ramming damage and also making the vehicle slightly heavy, hence adding more weight to the rams.

The second: the Toolbox. Just general fast repairs to help getting out of troubling situations quick.

And the third: the Vents version 1. Improves overall stats to help the crew control the vehicle better.

Consumables are not necessary, but it's up to you.

So far, the convoy event was pretty interesting. It's just there 'cause of the 100th anniversary only. Pretty disappointed that you can't drive the Mark I tank, but I've heard that the console versions do get to use it.

Lucky folks...

Anyways, that was the '100 Years of Tanks' Event post that took too many delays to post... also took me to edit and create the post up to 3 hours... man that was a lot of work for a fairly short post.

But at least it's done. Now I can delete the videos regarding the event and save more space for other work coming up. I think I'll do a post on the 110 Chinese Heavy Tank, or maybe something else with come up instead. I dunno...

I guess that's all the time for this post then. I will put up another one on the Thursday... until then, stay tuned.

Sudden Delays... again.

*sigh* It's getting real annoying now...

So yeah... in the end, the videos that I was supposed to post about at November 1st never did happen. What's the problem, you ask? Well, I'm gonna rant about it now.

TL;DR section at the end for those who can't be bothered.

With that outta the way, let's get right into the rants...

The moment I've reached the usual workplace on Tuesday 1st November, we got ourselves some last-minute HUGE workload. Lasts from Tuesday 1st November to Sunday 6th November. Received one day-off for our efforts, and it's been placed for Monday 7th November.

Yes... just in case you didn't know, sometimes we have to work at the weekends, too.

So all throughout the days I was doing the usual works, but I didn't set foot at home at all (not even the weekends) 'cause we sometimes have to continue working up to 11 PM. On the Sunday itself the work ended at 11:42 PM. By that time, the public transports will be gone already. So I've slept over there instead.

Then next morning, they asked everyone to clear the place... as in leave the workplace ASAP...

... at 5:30 AM. In the morning.

So everyone that slept over at the place has to hurry up and leave as everyone's on off... so they wanna lock up the place as fast as they can.

It's a good thing the public transports are around at that time, so not much trouble. Got home, took a bath and went straight to sleep again. lol

Guess all that work really did a number on me. But what to expect when you are in a team of three peeps, but the other two are absent for about 4 days? Practically have to do it all myself.

Anyways, woke up from my slumber and it's 4 PM.

Opened up the com to check on some stuff. One of the first things I did was applying for leave for the next 4 days, so yeah... I have the whole week to do all the posts I need for World Of Tanks. Then I've noticed that the World Of Tanks updated again. But at least I've recorded the '100 Years of Tanks' gameplay already. The rest on the other hand...

But I still went to check those old replays to see if they work. Surprisingly, they still work! No problems at all, which makes it even better. Then I got on to record them, only got to a few but it's mostly the 110 video parts are done. There's still more than just that tank, though.

Then not before long it was dark outside. Took so much time recording videos that I didn't even realize it's 10 PM already. Wanted to continue some more but for some strange reason, my body can't handle it anymore. Got real tired all of a sudden so I just went to sleep.

Then I woke up at 11:38 AM in the morning. The first thing that came to mind is...

"Shit! I forgot to upload the '100 Years' event video yesterday!" -Not exact thoughts during that time

And so now we are here now. This is just to tell you the whole that happened during those few days. I will keep the '100 Years of Tanks' event video on a separate post so that it won't clutter up everything, and it's also much easier for people to find it without the giant wall of rants this post has created.

It's also easier for the people that don't give a damn about what happened in those few days about me to find the post, whichever way works.

Okay, I think that's enough for this post... anymore and it might be a page from a novel or something.

TL;DR section below.

I'll be posting the '100 Year Tanks' videos soon on the blog, possibly about 5 hours later. I got some stuff I need to sort out soon.

With that done, I'm off. "Be right back"....

Shifted

This is just a quick update, so I'll get to the point.

I have finished editing and uploaded the '100 Years' World Of Tanks Convoy Mode replays to YouTube just a while ago, but it's 1:25 AM here... very tired now.

There's two videos that have been uploaded and I will post about the event and the video here tomorrow instead.

So yeah, that's it. Now I'm gonna go get some sleep before I drag on any longer.

See you soon with the posts!

-Panzer Fist-

Sudden Delays

Man, I'm just glad it wasn't three months...

Hello everyone. Looks like it's the 31st of October here... well over a month since my last post, and that ain't a good thing.

Why was I gone for almost two months? Well, as soon as October started we got some serious work to do. Everyone got a schedule of what they needed to be doing and no one got it easy.

Just when I thought these things are over, they come back again to disrupt my life... *sigh*

But it's over... for now. I don't know when another one's gonna happen, but I'm gonna post something at least when I got the chance.

At least this time, I was prepared. The '100 Year Tanks' event have been recorded before the shit hits the fan, and it's been chilling at my computer for quite some time now... just waiting to be uploaded to YouTube.

Not only that, the moment the 'heavy work period' has passed, I've been collecting several World Of Tanks replays. Seems like there's been a lot of changes recently while I was gone. But then, another problem arose...

World Of Tanks has another update...

I haven't gone around recording the gameplay aside the '100 Year Tanks' event, but I will get it done. I can continue record them as long as I don't update my World Of Tanks to the latest version. This means I can't play World Of Tanks until I've gotten every single gameplay recorded. Damn.

Ah well, a 'lil sacrifice to save certain things from being lost.

The next post will be about the '100 Year Tanks' event, and boy am I late to that party. Don't know when I can post it, but hopefully today if I'm fast enough.

So I guess that's it with why I was gone and what to do next. Time to get to work, well... at least I like this kind of work. See you soon!

The 112's Younger Brother

Yes... finally I have time to post this now.

What's up, guys... I'm finally back! Supposed to post this yesterday but I've already explained what happened in the last post. So without further delays, it's time to get right into today's post: The WZ-111 Premium Heavy Tank.

Pretty much another 112, with some notable differences...

From the title, this tank is supposed to be a predecessor to the 112 Heavy Tank. It has been in the game for almost as long as the 112, but it's usually a mission reward tank. But nowadays, it's been recently been available to be bought at the Premium Shop straight away. Last time, you'll have to complete or either consider buying the Nation's checkpoint for the WZ-111's mission.

I had this tank for quite some time now. Can't remember when I bought it, though. It's play-style isn't that different from the 112's, but I'll talk more about it soon. I've recorded some gameplay from World Of Tanks... some were good, some were bad, and some are... questionable.

The first one happens in the Serene Coast map. It went pretty smooth, aside from the fact that I kept getting shot by the E75.

In the video above, I tried to use the low height of the WZ-111 to my advantage. The E75 has no problem penetrating my upper frontal armor because of the angle my tank was in. That's one of the disadvantages is the pre-angled pike-nosed armor of this tank compared to the 112's flat front. It negates the armor angling on one side if you try to angle the tank.

Time for the second video... this time in the Fjords map. Had to withdrew from going to the usual Heavy area to help with sudden enemy appearances in the middle area.

In this video above, I tried to utilize my speed to move from location to location quickly... and bounced off a Tier IX, yes... Tier NEIN tank round. That's one of the advantages the WZ-111 has over the 112. It's top speed is higher and it's lower weight than the 112 makes it accelerate just a bit faster, too.

And now, the third video. This time's the map is Karelia. Started off quite slow, but things got better near the end...

Now in the video above, I went slowly as there's not many high-tier tanks in my area. But in the end, managed to score some kills... three of them were drive-by kills... and from the same platoon.

The WZ-111's rate of fire is slightly higher than the 112, but not much. It's reload is 0.30 seconds faster than the 112. Not that big of a deal, but still... faster reload is always a good thing. Derp guns like the usual 122mm gun have "questionable" accuracy. Sometimes when you fully aim and they fly somewhere else, and sometimes you shoot on the move like this and it lands perfectly on the target.

...yeah.

And now, it's time for the last video. The map is Winter Himmelsdorf. One of the few losses that was somewhat... good.

Probably should have waited at the A0 zone behind a building for the enemies instead. Coulda gotten one more kill for Top Gun, maybe.

The WZ-111, just like any Chinese Heavy Tank (besides the IS-2 and 110) must avoid getting shot in the lower front plate as they are usually weak as hell. Not only that, but when penetrated will usually cause all sorts of messes... like engine fires and ammo racks. Getting shot from the back and sides are also a surefire way to get lit up like a firecracker.

Would you choose the 112...
Or the WZ-111?

Now, what do I think about this tank? It's sorta like an upgrade to the 112, but also kind of a downgrade, too. It has a faster shooting gun, fast acceleration and high top speed but suffers from the pike-nose hull front design, so it can't side-scrape that much... or even at all. It also has slightly higher health than the 112, but it's only a measly 50 HP.

I pretty much prefer the 112 over the WZ-111 as the armor is more reliable. Flat front and extremely well-sloped upper front plate which is carried over to the 113, so it means they can side-scrape and do certain things the WZ-111 and the "Model 1-4" variant of it can't do. Still a pretty good tank if you can live with the cons.

Had quite a blast with this tank, but yeah... 112's better. Might not have the acceleration, top speed and faster fire rate of the WZ-111, but the armor's better. And when you're in a Heavy Tank, armor matters to a certain extent for survival.

Well, wanted to go and post this out there as I pretty much owe it to myself to do it, from yesterday's post...

Was hoping to do more of these in the near future. I already collected several good replays since the last two days, so they'll probably the next ones to post about... assuming there's no sudden update to World Of Tanks to make the replays outdated. Then I'll have to gather another bunch of replays for recording... again.

All right, that's all there is to it for this post. When's the next post coming? Not sure, but once I've uploaded another World Of Tanks replay video, I'll post an update about it then get to work on the contents of the next post. Until then, see ya'll next time...

Delayed

Just a quick update here.

A new World Of Tanks video has been recently uploaded to my YouTube channel. It's the final WZ-111 batch of replays that I've recorded quite some months ago.

But, I'll be posting about the WZ-111 Premium Tank some other time. Not today, as I have not much time now... but it'll be posted here soon, so don't worry.

Reason? Well, I had some work I have to do at the very last moment. Usual shit...

I'm not sure when I can get around to posting on the blog, but I'll try to get it up by Monday... which is tomorrow. So yeah, don't have to wait that long, I hope...

Anyways, just wanted to post this quick update to let y'all know. It's pretty late here, around 1:25 AM now... so I better get some rest for work. Stay tuned!

Gone, But Not Forgotten

Finally, I'm back.

Ahh... It's good to be back. I was gone WAY too long, but it can't be helped. Important work that needs handling, and also the fact that it started near the end of May.

Been working on the clock for way too many hours, and having too little hours for rest. I'd even consider staying in at my workplace because the moment I'd reach back home, I'll only have 2 hours... yes, TWO HOURS of free time before knocking off to bed... and that's only like 4 hours of sleep, not counting the 2 free hours... not to mention working on the weekends.

From May all the way to September. Some work streak...

But now the important ones are coming to an end, as of today... which is Friday, right over here now.

Been gone too long... It's been like what, 5 months plus already since the last post? Damn.

Now that the bitching is out of the way, let's get down to the blog updates.

Off the bat I'm gonna be referring to some of the stuff I've written in the last post. The April's Fools video from World Of Tanks will sadly not be available. Sure, I have the World Of Tanks replay of it, but it's outdated 'cause of all the updates. The other World Of Tanks videos? Well, since I've been gone for 5 months now, I'll have to get right back to playing the game to get some replays.

Hope I remember how to play this game...

Last I checked, I still have the Metal Saga bulk videos... all 6 folders of them, and each folder has 6 videos each lasting about roughly 30 minutes. Yes, THAT much of Metal Saga stuff I'm currently having right now.

I do have one more World Of Tanks video saved for editing/processing. It's a WZ-111 replay, and I was supposed to upload it to YouTube as the 4th and final one for that tank. Then, was supposed to make a post about the tank with all 4 videos inside it... but then came the damn works...

Here's hoping no more of that shizz happening at work, but that definitely won't be true, though. Important/tough work periods come and go here.

But since I'm free from that burden, I might as well make use of the time I have before another one starts. Now, I no longer have to consider staying in at work everyday and weekends are finally back!

So yes, this update is to just tell you guys that I'm not dead, just been extremely busy. I'll be uploading the last WZ-111 video to YouTube and then y'all can expect another post coming up this weekend.

*sigh of relief* It's finally good to be back, folks.

April Quick Update

Don't have a lot of time here, so I'll make this brief.

Haven't updated the blog for awhile 'cause work got up to me again, barely enough free hours to spend recording and editing videos... 'cause need the other 5 hours to sleep. Not much sleep, but what is around here, huh...

At least it's not another two weeks and two days for a post to appear.

What to expect this month: two videos on April's Fool Day, some World Of Tanks replays and Metal Saga bulk videos to upload... and to post the Metal Saga Adventures parts here... whenever I get the time to do it, of course.

Alright, that's the quick update for tonight. Yes, it's 1:44am here... so I really have to get going. Catch y'all next post!

Two Weeks N' Two Days

My, how fast the days goes by.

Looks like I've been gone for about 16 days... and of course, there's a reason for it.

Holidays! But it's only for a week, the other week was just an extra I decided to add in myself. lol

So, this means the Metal Saga Adventures will be back up? Both yes and no.

"Yes" as in it will be up. "No" as in not constantly.

While I was gone, World Of Tanks had released the 9.14 Update. This update revamps the physics of the tanks to a more "realistic" feel and you can now use a so-called 'handbrake' (Spacebar Default) to immediately stop your tank or to perform slick drifts and quick maneuvers.

The update also changed almost all of the sound in-game to make tanks' engines sound better, for example. Gun sounds have also been replaced with more powerful ones, so now they don't sound very lackluster. Bigger caliber guns will have thunderous roars while smaller ones will vary... but still sound good.

Those are the main course of the update. There's still more, of course.

Small stuff like updated minimap to have the view range circles similar to XVM and the long awaited HD-modeled IS-6 that tons of people are waiting for. It now looks more like an IS-4 now... and it might be just me, but the front turret of the IS-6 seems to be more easy to penetrate then ever for some reason.

Had some fun with the new update. Even got some replays that shows how they perform. The WZ-111 was apparently on sale, so I decided to grab 'em and also topped up on some gold... It's been quite some time since I've last played World Of Tanks.

It's a good tank. Faster than the 112 in speed and fire rate (just a bit) and also the 120mm side armor. Only problem with the tank is the pike-nose design on the front.

One of these days, I'll be getting the WZ-111 1-4 for that "fast" IS-7 feel. I'm going down the Maus and IS-4 route, so it's a good tank to keep around.

Huh... now that I noticed, I have the 112, 113 and now the WZ-111. Collection? Might as well.

Now, back to Metal Saga. The last one that I've posted on stopped at part 3 of the playthrough. But if you think you don't like waiting, I've already uploaded a bunch of the playthrough to my YouTube channel... I think the last I've uploaded was part 15.

So yeah... tons to catch up on for that one. Yikes.

Truth to be told, I actually have plenty more of the Metal Saga Playthrough videos saved on my computer.

Let's see here... about another 33 parts saved here. Hmm... this might take awhile.

The best part about all this: I'm still adding more and more, 'cause I'm not finished with the game... yet.

But why still post them here when it's on YouTube already, you say? Well, it's called "Metal Saga Adventures" for a reason. It's just the playthrough video with some backstory placed in it. Oh, and don't forget about the pictures.

And also sometimes the occasional sidetracking of the whole thing just to explain some real world tank counterparts and history.

Sorry, I'm a tank freak... just in case you didn't notice.

So yeah... even when enjoying my holidays, I was still getting video materials for upcoming posts.

I plan to do a slightly different post in the future. The post will just be me discussing certain tank stuff. It'll probably be very boring, but I feel it needs to be done. It's not that serious, but it's something that I've been very concerned about.

And when will all this will happen? Well, you definitely don't have to wait another 16 days for it to appear, though... whichever is the one's gonna be first, that is. So with that, I will bid y'all adieu for now... and will catch ya on the next post!

Metal Saga Adventures 2

In this post, it will include 2... yes, TWO videos. Both part 2 and 3 of the Metal Saga Playthrough.

Why two videos? Well, I didn't take that much screenshots in these clips. Let's see... I took only four pictures in between parts 2 and 3.

Sorry, got too deep into the game that all of my focus was on Metal Saga itself.

So without any other stuff to declare, I give you part 2 of the Metal Saga Playthrough.

Continuing from the last MS Adventures, we proceed to the Hunter's Office to get our very first bounty reward. Not quite an amount... it's more like pocket money's worth of reward. Then it's time to leave the Junkyard and onward to Newfolk!

But then, we got messages... messages from Gary's dad and Scarlet. She gave us some newbie tips that can be very helpful for a person who's new to Metal Saga.

One of the few tips she sent.

After fighting our way through some sunflowers that shoot missiles and other assorted weird... stuff, we finally reached Newfolk. Nice place, with peaceful music playing.

And of course we met Nikolai, the "mechanic god".

Too bad we can't take him along, though. Repairing vehicles will be a breeze for him. Instead, we can ask his daughter, Misha or son, Kiriya to tag along. They are still learning the mechanic ways, but they know enough to keep the vehicles in tip-top shape.

I went with Kiriya on this one. He's the "active/aggressive" mechanic while Misha is more of a "support/passive" mechanic. Originally the classic go-to mechanic for every game I start out.

Time to get a vehicle for him!

But there are certain moments where I picked Misha instead. It's just personal preference, anyways.

And then there's part 3 of the playthrough...

Sadly, there's only ONE screenshot taken during this playthrough... It's a picure of the Mosquito "tank" [or more specifically, tankette] just before I went to claim ownership of it.

Found in the parking lot.

Found a Demag for Kiriya first before I went to get the Mosquito. The halftrack's a good vehicle, but it's quite similar to the Buggy. The Mosquito however, is more of a tiny tank. Even though you can place a cannon on one to make it look more like a tank, I prefer this vehicle to have a missile pod instead.

Now, some tank history: the Demag is based of the german WWII halftracks, the Sd.Kfz. 250. It's not really the 251 version as that one was created by the Hanomag company, hence then it's called the Demag in the game as the Demag company made the lighter version, the 250.

Sd.Kfz. 250 [Demag Built]
Sd.Kfz. 251 [Hanomag Built]

Some links to both the Demag and Hanomag halftrack info page below... and yes, I know... Wikipedia...

Sd.Kfz. 250 [Demag Built]

Sd.Kfz. 251 [Hanomag Built]

Renamed it to Hanomag instead, as it's more accurate. The vehicle in the game is given a big gun and tons of armor tiles, thus it's no longer a "light vehicle". Looks like I've forgotten to place quotes for the Demag's name in the game... Looks better as "Hanomag" instead.

As for the Mosquito, it was renamed to the Wiesel 1A1. The tank is pretty much the same... although I do not know why it was nicknamed Mosquito in the game.

Maybe because it's quick, small and it stings you and you don't see it coming? Could be.

Here's a link to the Wiesel 1's info... below.

Wiesel AWC

This was supposed to be renamed to Wiesel AT [Anti-Tank] but it just doesn't feel right. The reason I wanted the cannon replaced because I wanted at least one vehicle using the SE [Special Equipment] weapon. The first few vehicles you find have the Main Gun slot, y'know... cannons.

The closest Wiesel 1 with a missile pod [TOW]

Of course, I did get around to changing it to equip SE weapons, but that's all in another part of the playthrough.... much, much later that is.

Technically, the Buggy was not supposed to have a Main Gun, but instead a missile pod. It makes more sense as I have yet to see actual photos of buggies with tank cannons... they only carry missile pods or recoiless rifles as of now.

There was a picture of a Wiesel 1 with a supposed "turret", but that's not a cannon... it's only a large-caliber machinegun.

Notice the turret, but the gun seems small.

I guess I'm going off topic right now, seems like I've talked more about the real life counterparts rather than the game itself. But, more will come in the next Metal Saga Adventures update!

Old, but Gold - Metal Saga Adventures 1

Truly one of the most satisfying games that I've played in my life.

And here it is: Metal Saga. Or by it's full title: Metal Saga - Chains Of Sandstorm.

Japanese Logo. English version only has "Metal Saga".

It's an okay JRPG, but it has a surprise: you can drive and collect tanks! Oh, and some occasional armored vehicles too. Made in 2005, I've first played this game back in 2007. Found this game out of curiosity so I decided to play it.

It reminds me of Super Mario RPG since they are both JRPGs, and Super Mario RPG was one of the first types of RPGs I've ever played in my life. Good times with that game...

I've lost count how many replays I've had with Metal Saga, but I definitely know that it's above ten times. There's just so much to discover... plus this game is not really known to people, so it wasn't really noticed. I also did not have a computer in the earlier years, so I have to resort to taking notes.

Still have 'em somewhere... just waiting to  be found...

So now, let's get to the game. I've decided to make a playthrough of it... don't know if I will stop right at the end of the game or continue after it, though. Will have tons of pictures and parts of videos placed.

Each part will be roughly 30 minutes long. I tried to record past 40 minutes but the game craps up and crashes after that. So this is the longest I can record for each part of the playthrough. No facecams, voice overs and stuff like that, it's just pure gameplay.

So, without further delays, here's the first part of the Metal Saga playthrough. Enjoy.

The game starts out with the usual title screen, and has two options:

English Metal Saga version.

Started a new game and had to place a name. Decided to put 'em as "Gary". Then came the situation to be a hunter or a mechanic...

Believe it or not, the other option leads to an ending.

Gone with the obvious route... And of course, the mother [Nina] was not quite happy about it.

Obviously, the father.

Y'know what they say: like father, like son. Following in our father's footsteps to be a great hunter.

Then we met his friend, McKinley outside of our home.

He thought the main character was the father...

...for a while, at least.

And so, we begin our adventure... or preparation. Went to the Hunter's Office since Nina wanted us to go there first. Mother's knows best.

Once inside, someone talked to Gary. Not sure who this person is, but she know him. Gave him a little tip about a vehicle somwhere in the mountain of junk right behind his town... and she doesn't need it as she's doing fine without a vehicle.

Hmm... did she put it there for us? I wonder...
She didn't say where, so likely we'll never see her again.

She takes her leave soon after that, and told him that they might meet up again sometime... So now I went around town to see the other characters... and preparing to go to the Junk Mountain for my first vehicle, until I met this boy who gave me a tip [not really].

It's like he wants me to get it.

And we're off to Junk Mountain! Guess what Gary found around the hills...

It's the "stowed" vehicle the girl told us.

It's a buggy! It seems to have a gun on it's side... definitely set up by the girl in the Hunter's Office for us [for whatever reason].

Halfway through the mountain of fighting knives strapped to bikes and fuel tanks with spider legs, we met a fellow hunter. Gave us some hints that there was a cannon somewhere around this area, but he hasn't found a vehicle yet for it.

A free cannon... just waiting for Gary.

He must be blind to be able to miss the buggy back at the hill.

On the way to the buggy, we found another vehicle! But...

Yeah, what he said.

It looks like a Tiger I. Rusted to hell... won't be moving anytime soon.

After some long walks and eradicating some Junk Zombies with guns, we managed to reach to the buggy. Awesome...

The vehicle... just an arm's reach away...
Not really big with naming stuff... sorry.

Wandered around and found a locked safe... Unlocked it and got some gold!

PIN number doesn't change at all.

Fought my way through some monsters until I reached the outlaw of the Junk Mountain, Trash Heap. Some guy outside said that we have to be roughly level 4 [or was it 3?] to survive a battle with him.

Eh... we have a vehicle. No problemo! Let the battle begin!

Trash Heap outlaw.

The battle with it was... mediocre. But at least I don't have to go through that again. And then it's time to go back home...

And that was Part 1 of the Metal Saga playthrough. There's plenty more adventures to have, as it's just the beginning...
