Metal Saga Adventures 5

And here is today's Metal Saga Adventures post.

Apparently I might have deleted some screenshots and videos from the Metal Saga playthrough when I was trying to get more free space for my hard drive in the past, or that I just didn't take many or even any photos for it...

What am I rambling on about? Well, a quick check at the Metal Saga playthrough folder shows me that parts 7 and 8 did not have any screenshots taken... and part 9 only had ONE.

Annddd then part 10 resumes to not have any photos again.

This means that today's post might be lacking any photos, but loads of videos. Hmm... might be quite difficult. So with that news outta the way, it's time to get right into the videos.

So in this part, the team continued on with their 'visit' to the Beldaire Mansion. They then eventually met Arthur, the now retired Hunter that made his riches off that line of work and built this town... 'cause it's actually named after him.

Then there's his two children Rosa and Carl. Carl's a mechanic while Rosa is more of a Tank Collector than a Hunter as she explains when Gary first met them at the Abandoned Ruins.

After that they set off further into lands beyond. As this point I was thinking of killing Colonel Blueberry as his base isn't that far off. Tankasaurus might be a bit of a challenge at this current level.

More annoying enemies to handle from Blueberry Army Jeeps to giant birds... there's even these enemies called 'Trader Hunters' that looked like the real-world M1128 MGS... except without the whole turret thing.

M1128 Mobile Gun System. No actual turret.

They then reached the Blueberry Army's base of operations. Just moving to the next area, then suddenly we get to see Connie and Clive at the area we just left... talking about a certain thing in the basement of this fort.

It's obviously Tankasaurus... but what's more intriguing is that they are talking about whether "the hunter kid will be alright"... which proves that they are monitoring us for whatever reason.

So then begins our journey up the floors of the fort filled with many soldiers and ambushes at staircases... and it's also where I transition over to the next video.

So right where we left off...

The team finally reached the top floor of the fort... and it's time to meet this 'Colonel Blueberry' guy.

Turns out he's just some rich midget that perhaps found his fortune at this here fort? I mean, look at all these golden statues, gold bars and that golden-framed glass tank filled with gold coins... or he could have been rich elsewhere instead, I dunno...

I would have expected him to at least fight alongside his soldiers with a gun or make that big guy fight, too... then again, it'll only make it harder for me to wipe them out.

Anyways, it's time to take down the joke of a boss and his minions. The boss is a joke, as expected but the guards are tough... kept lobbing grenades that hit everyone and even killed Gary... again.

The last guard had a silver of health remaining and went out-of-range. Luckily, there's just one more Remote Grenade [designed for OOR (or out-of-range) targets] for this fella...

...and totally miss-clicked and thrown it at the Outlaw instead. ugh...

The guard uses his "assault rifle"... which is clearly a SPAS-12 just by looking at the models. And as far as I know, that real-world weapon is a shotgun.

The one in-game had the stock unfolded.

So... now Kiriya is stuck with defending against the guard's attacks and Bernie is scared stiff... until the guard decides to shoot the dog instead, then only Bernie reacted by shooting him.

And now it's just a matter of attack till they drop scenario where the enemy does nothing but soak up all the attacks till they die...

And finally he's dead. Got crushed under the guy that was carrying him. Then we just look around for stuff to take since there's all this stuff lying around. Can't get any of the wealth here, sad to say... but Kiriya found a map hidden in the other room.

Now it's a matter of getting out of here... but not without picking up the first Anti-Aircraft Tank in the game: the Gepard 1A2.

Flakpanzer Gepard 1A2 'SPAAG' or 'Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun'.

Sweet... a the first vehicle that doesn't look puny in the game, with AA capabilities!

And now it's off doing the usual stuff; reviving dead members, storing stuff and getting repairs before heading over to Beldaire.

Once there, we got a little cutscene of a certain man wearing a mask and a long ragged white coat... and his name is the "Disassembler". Might be an Outlaw...

The scene shows him picking up a certain smell from the Mansion... but it's the "smell of tanks"... which I'm guessing were Rosa's tank collection at the basement. Judging from his name, we can all know what happened to her vehicles...

Oh, and he says that "this is gonna be fun" before laughing maniacally at the sky... and then the cutscene ends there. Well, we all know where he get his kicks from.

After buying and modifying some tank parts, the team then sets off to find a place that sells AA guns for the new tank... and also, next video!

Now, the only place that I know off that sells AA tank weaponry is a Trader Camp that's quite far... but eventually, managed to make it there. Bought two AA guns as the Gepard 1A2 can mount two of them, and also bought decals for all the tanks.

Then it was time to hit the road again. This time, we head deeper into undiscovered territory to find a town with a Japanese aesthetic to it called 'Torikami'.

Headed straight to the Tank Part Shop and found an even better AA gun that hits every target instead of just one! There's also an AA weapon in the 'Special Equipments' slot or known as 'SE' in the game called the 'Swatter' that attacks airborne enemies.

We just bought AA guns for the Gepard 1A2... but what the heck! We have nearly 20000Gs, so spending them won't hurt... and might as well get new engines and 'Control Unit' [or 'C Unit' in-game] while we're at it!

And then it's time to check the Hunter's Office for the area's wanted Outlaws. There's the 'Eagle 1' which is a giant bomber plane with a bald eagle's head at the front... then there's 'Orochi' which is "an enormous many-headed snake" that lives in the cave near the town, but it looks more like a dragon rather than a snake...

And there's the 'Sewer Demon' which is said to roam around the sewers of a certain "Morgue Town"... which they even think that the town doesn't exist. And finally there's the 'Ghost Tank', which has been sighted in the desert patch just above the Trader Camp we've been to recently.

So now the whole gang just explores the rest of the town, but on foot as no vehicles are allowed to the rest of Torikami except the first two buildings.

They then head up the huge stone stairs to the Village Chief's house. We met up with the daughter of the Village Chief, Kaede, who's supposed to entertain visitors... but seems to be in a gloomy mood for some reason.

A quick check in the Village Chief's room and we found him. He's Gorou and they seem to be in a predicament. Apparently, Orochi is real and he has woken up from his slumber... and is now demanding a human sacrifice from the village. Gorou had sent a warrior in the cave to defeat the monster but came back in terrible condition. He won't allow anyone else in the village to get hurt, and has even considered sacrificing his own daughter as last resort.

Well, that explains why Kaede look so sad and gloomy.

And now it is apparently our job to fight this beast.

But on a side note, we found two maps. One is actually a part of a map for Junk Mountain that we've opened already, and the other one [Old Map] is actually pretty damn far away to get to now... like "the other edge of the map" kind of far.

So with that done, the team heads to this supposed 'Tank Graveyard' to find the 'Ghost Tank'.

Things start to go very foggy once we're in the desert area... really bad vision and lots of tank debris everywhere. Travelling deeper leads to more thick fog, and eventually we get to battle the 'Ghost Tank'... accompanied with three ghostly soldiers.

Quite a surprisingly easy battle even though the tank was already in OOR distance to begin with. This is because the Vulcans quickly dispatched all the ghosts while Bernie shoots the tank, and finally Kiriya uses the missile pod on the Wiesel 1A1 to obliterate the tank with 290 damage.

One of the more easier Outlaws, ever.

The team suddenly came across a large rectangular stone in the middle of this creepy place. Scanned the area with the Mine Detector as I know what's buried here... a tank!

It's called a "Panzer" in-game but it's actually a StuG III... and that's what it's name will be.

StuG III, 'G' series.

And with that, we set off for Beldaire for some tank part shopping... but then got mail from the Satcom, which is from Rosa stating for a 'tank battle' at the Junkyard... and will be waiting at the bar there. But the team also spotted a rather large shadow moving around the area. Curious, the team tried to follow it, but needed to deal with the overloaded weight of the Stug III first.

Seems that the shadow was a flying creature... and is an Outlaw, too. Looks like a manta ray and a B-2 'Spirit' Stealth Bomber fused together...

We combine the B-2 'Spirit'...

...with this giant manta ray...

...and this is what you'll get.

This thing is huge... and attacked it with the Swatter SE gets zero hits as this thing is in 'High Altitude'... meaning only special AA SE weapons and AA guns like the ones on the Gepard 1A2 can hit them at that height level.

The creature then drops a payload of bombs on them, and two of them didn't get hit... only Gary. That one hit took out the whole SP the tank had and even damaged one of the most important parts of the tank; the chassis.

They knew immediately that this might be a very strong Outlaw... and retreated. Then ignoring what just happened, they continued with what they were about to do just now; tank part shopping at Beldaire.

Well... I guess I'll have to end it here for now, folks... as it's getting really long now. Part 10 of the playthrough will be on the next Metal Saga Adventures post instead. I lost count on how many hours I've spent on this one post alone, so I would like to take a break for now. See ya tomorrow, then!
