Metal Saga Adventures 7

Time for this Monday's post...

Before any long stories, let's get right into the video.

Continuing from yesterday's Metal Saga Adventures posts, the team then heads towards a fellow Hunter with a rather big tank.

Don't know why he kept calling us 'buddy'...

Looks like an early model of the T-34/76, and talking to him reveals that he got the sweet ride from a fellow Tank Broker name "MC Hamir"... and he's probably still at the bar in town. Then he just drove off, feeling all smug that he had a better vehicle than us...

T-34/76, 1941 version.

So then we try find this "MC Hamir" fellow at the bar. Turns out he's still there, talking to the waitresses. Talked to him about getting us a tank and now the only problem is the amount to pay him.

If only this is the 'secret amount' that you can pay him...

Fortunately, there's a little secret to this part. The number '12501' is somehow a Metal Saga meme... and normally you'll have to pay at least more than 50000 for him to accept the payment, which we don't even have.

And so he then sets off to find us a tank after asking for Gary's Satcom address to keep in contact.

Now the team moves on to the train station. I think it was time we get to the West for some good gear, and the only way there without dying is by taking the train. Don't have enough for First and Second Class, so we just went with Third Class.

Heck, even if I got the cash, I wouldn't be wasting them on the other two classes...

Met and talked to McKinley on the train... and even encountered a kid by the name of 'Catherine' who seems to be looking for her missing teddy bear named 'Gluttony'...

Seems that she's looking for a lost teddy...

...before being dragged off by her mother for running around the train alone.

Poor kid. Must've really like that teddy bear...

Decided to cut the trip short by quickly asking one of the train attendants if we're there yet, 'cause that's how you make your train trips quick... won't work IRL, though.

And finally we reached the first West Area town; Alice One. Got to our vehicles and quickly made our way to the Hunter Office to see what Outlaws they have. There, the team saw a cowboy holding a whip... and he's name is Wayne. He asked Gary whether he knew who 'Derringer Jack' is, and said that he's the one who is going to kill him... and no one will stand in his way.

One hell of a grudge...

Must've been a story between him and this 'Derringer Jack' Outlaw...

Oh, and the Outlaws around here were 'Tiamat', a huge land battleship that roams around a large patch of desert called 'The Sea of Sands'... and says to have overwhelming firepower. Definitely not gonna be fighting that thing anytime soon.

Next, there's 'Granddaddy Kong', a baboon who is the head of a infamous 'Chimpone Family'. Al Capone would be proud (?)

And last, there's the 'Tank Eater', a giant antlion that lives in a desert area southwest of a town called 'Dowan', and was known to attack tanks that get trapped in it's nest.

Anyways, did the usual town stuff before heading down to the local bar. There, two people; a Swordsman and a Cowgirl seemed to be arguing about which weapon is better: the sword or the gun.

The swordsman seems calm while the cowgirl is very aggressive.

Or in-game terms, Melee versus Ranged weapons.

Talking to them will have you having to answer to them which is better... or even just tell them that the weapon depends on the user, which is what I did to both of them.

A nearby trader tells us that the area called the 'Sea of Sands' have these 'wild buses' roaming around, and once were automated public transports before the Great Destruction happened and made them go haywire. Seems like we just found our first West Area vehicle to own.

Talking to the Cowgirl again will have her asking Gary whether if they need a partner. Who could say no to that?

And thus, we have a full team. The cowgirl's name is Charlene and she [obviously] specializes in ranged weapons.

The whole gang's here!

Luckily, we already got one vehicle in-tow, so that will do for now. Talking to the swordsman also will have him asking whether we need any of his services... and I can pretty much tell that Charlene and him are still at odds with each other, judging from her reply towards the man when I rejected his offer.

Roaming around the bar lead us to some info about the wild buses. Seems like there's a guy and the first level that knows a way to get one, but charges big money for it... so earning that vehicle will be on hold for now.

Decided to spend that money elsewhere... like buying a house that was on sale for 3000Gs. The seller, Banjo said that a family he knew used to live there... and that he knew Charlene when she was little... and also her father.

Seems like the memories she had at her old house aren't particularly that good. Apparently, she wants to use the house too as she says "it sure brings back mem'ries".

Allowed her to use it, as it used to be her place.

Met a researcher named Leon that studies cause the Great Destruction and the tech that used to exist back then... and seems to be very focused in his work. Apparently, he thinks that we've met or seen Gary somewhere before, but whatever.

After the whole ordeal at Alice One, the now fully assembled team sets off for the Tank Graveyard... y'know, where the 'Ghost Tank' was at.

The large stone statue that we saw last time is actually a monument dedicating to a certain battle that took place there. Then suddenly, a voice was heard... kept cursing about the dishonor and humiliation that happens even to this day...

The monument at the foggy 'Tank Graveyard' area.

And also wanted us to do something to the monument? Don't know what's going on, but definitely know who to go to for answers...

So the team went to Torikami to speak to Kaede. She says the 'Ghost Tank' are "a manifestation of spiritual energy from those who died in a great battle long ago". Apparently they cannot let go of their past until the thing they hate is eliminated. Which means...

...we gonna have to destroy that monument.

And with that, I end today's Metal Saga Adventures post. It's always either too little pictures > more context and videos or too much pictures > less videos or just more text overall... well, that's the life of an ex-writer...

So yeah, that all for today. You know the usual already... so see ya then.
