Metal Saga Adventures 6

It's time for today's Metal Saga Adventures post. Enjoy.

So without any delays, here's the next part of the playthrough.

Continuing where we'd left off, the team then sets off to Newfolk after their little shopping spree at Beldaire. But first, a quick check at the ol' Satcom...

Huh... seems like the 'Ghost Tank' isn't dead yet, judging from the Gary's own diary entry. It says that he had already defeated it, but it keeps coming back... and wonders if there's anyone who can make it go away for good.

Now obviously this is a clue... we have to find a certain character in the game that can tell us how to deal with the 'Ghost Tank'... or maybe that 'grave-like' statue where we dug up the StuG III is where we'll get our answers? Who knows...

...but for now, the team sets off to deal with other things first, like finding more easier Outlaws to kill.

There are two easy ones that I know off, and both are in between the Newfolk and East Zero areas. Plus, we anyways were heading out for Newfolk for some tank paint-jobs from Nikolai.

And so after some nice colors for our tanks, they then head towards a Trader Camp just west of Newfolk...

...and reaching there, found dead Traders around the campsite. There are a group of punks nearby, but they didn't see Gary and the rest of the team. Kiriya hated what he saw and thinks that "this is sick"...

A nearby Trader lying face-down seems to be still alive, as he urged us to leave before the team was spotted. But of course, what's the use of being a Hunter if you're gonna let criminals get away with things like this?! Of course we'd fight!

These guys are too easy. Then again, our levels are quite high for the area we're in. Took out the first group of bandits with just one spin of the Vulcan sub-gun [the minigun mounted on the tank].

Then they brought out their chief, who rides a "Puma Armored Car" and seems to be wearing a rugby helmet for some reason... and his name is "Mad Maxwell", probably a homage to the Mad Max series.

Sd.Kfz. 234/2 "Puma" Armored Car from WWII era.

Not that hard to deal with his vehicle, as every attack they throw at the team results in a 'deflect', as in 'no damage taken'.

Was close to turning his vehicle into scrap metal [or at the very least, broken so we can take it later] when suddenly, a shot from somewhere obliterated the vehicle!

Even the enemies were surprised. Mad Maxwell managed to live through the blast, though.

One of the bandits saw something at the corner, and the person who destroyed his ride was none other than Scarlet. Heck, even she was surprised that it was that easy to destroy the vehicle... since Gary already did most of the damage. Just sayin'...

She didn't know that the're already others here fighting the bandits, and just leaves the team to deal with the rest of them... probably feeling awkward that she just dropped in like that and potentially eliminating our chances of getting another vehicle to the collection...

The bandits are shocked to see her "in the East"... but plans to get revenge after they dealt with us. Time for round 2, then!

Not even that different from the first two battles. All attacks from him were blocked... and then he's toast in just a matter of minutes. Apparently, he nicknamed the vehicle he was riding the "Manhunter", and says that he shouldn't have lost... even without it.

Well, that's over. Time for the next nearby Outlaw.

A quick check at the Satcom reveals that he was the Captain of a group called the "League of Uncivilized Barbarians"... what a fitting gang name for what they were doing.

The next Outlaw is somewhere in the desert close to East Zero, and is apparently a "sand shark"... don't know how that works, but whatever.

Saw it's fin made a dash towards the team and we're off to our next Outlaw battle!

Seems like it's a Hammerhead Shark... those ones with the weird 'things' at the front of it snout that are also where it's eyes are at on each ends.

Hammerhead Shark. The one in-game has another two 'bars'...

And what that effectively means is that the one in-game has 3 pairs of eyes... making it have up to 6 eyes.

These big Outlaws normally have trouble attacking smaller targets, especially when our team is outside of their vehicles [excluding Bernie] and it's also a good time to test out the special C Unit function 'Sync-Fire' on Kiriya's StuG III.

The 'Sync-Fire' function allows you to effectively use your vehicle's Main Gun [and only 'Main Gun', no 'Sub-gun' or 'SE'] when your character is outside of their vehicle... as long as it still has ammo and the Main Gun itself is not broken, has no ammo left or the C Unit is broken in any way...

...and also as long as your vehicle is within the character's presence, as well.

This means that you'll effectively do combined damage from your character outside their vehicle and their vehicle's Main Gun, while avoiding any vehicle damage. Your character might get hit and die, though.

Anyways, back to the Outlaw battle, it wasn't that hard. The only real damage it managed to do was at Kiriya's tank when he was still in it. It was pretty funny when Kiriya got 'slapped' by the shark's "Tail Swipe", and only Bernie managed to avoid getting hit. It burrowed itself several times into the sand but came out eventually and gets destroyed. Drops a Special Junk on death.

And then the team goes back to Newfolk to claim the rewards...

After that, I wanted to stop by the saloon as that's where I met Scarlet and also Alex and the Connie/Clive duo for the first time. Turns out Scarlet is there... for some reason. She explains that she has no intention of helping us out while we were in the raided camp earlier, and was there only because she "heard all the ruckus and didn't want to miss out on the fun"... after that she goes off and told us to "toughen up"...

Guess it won't be the last we'll see of her...

And now, there's another Outlaw I wanted to defeat: Tankasaurus. Back then. the team's level was still rather low. But now...

After making our way through the world to the fort, it's time for the descent down to the Tank-Dinosaur hybrid. Found a ton of Maus turrets lying around for some reason. Also found some floating blue orbs just like back at the Abandoned Ruins... and a ton of turrets for enemies. No Blueberry Army soldiers.

And finally we meet up with the towering prehistoric reptile face-to-face. Then was given the choice to "Pet it" or "Poke it". Petting it will just make it go back to sleep, kinda like a "Are you sure you want to fight it?" with the choices of "Yes" or "No"... so we choose "Poke it" as we came here to get Outlaw rewards.

The battle's pretty normal... with the exception of getting Kiriya's tank trampled on by the creature, causing the C Unit to be broken. A little use of the "Quick Fix I" skill he had makes it usable again as you can't use your tank, only sit in it and do nothing.

Killing Tankasaurus gives us a Special Junk upon destroying it... and it was time to leave as there's two vehicles that needed fixing.

And just leaving the area Tankasaurus was in showed us a cutscene of Connie and Clive again. They were apparently quite surprised that Gary managed to kill the creature... and Connie suggests that they should report back and also "keep a close eye on this one"... and Clive agrees while saying the old "like father, like son" line. Maybe they know each other?

After that whole ordeal, it was time to reap the rewards... so the team headed to East Zero to do the usual stuff in town...

And that's all for today's post! Quite a lot for just one video... again. But I don't give a damn. As usual, another post tomorrow. See ya then...
